Modern Beauty series
These paintings are from a new series that take a kitschy look at various
ideas of "ideal femininity" using ephemera found in old yearbooks and travel
postcards. The three on the top row are the most recent - I'm calling them the
"Sweater Set." The characters in them are from vintage 1960's knitting pattern
books and the quotes are from Dale Carnegie's book "How to Win Friends
and Influence People." Hope they make you laugh!
